Acupuncture: A form of healthcare that is over 2,500 years old. Acupuncture is effective in treating numerous health conditions. Hair thin needles are inserted into very specific points to promote balance and healing. The sensations felt with the needles are not painful. The needles are sterile, stainless steel and disposable. A thorough history and physical examination are obtained and an Oriental medical diagnosis is established prior to treatment.

Additional modalities may be used in conjunction with treatment, such as:

  • Electrical stimulation: A mild electrical current is applied to provide continuous stimulation to acupuncture points.
  • Moxabustion: A form of heat therapy that uses an herb called mugwort to stimulate acupuncture points.

  • Cupping: Glass or plastic cups are used to create suction on the skin to increase circulation.

  • Gua sha: A small, flat ox bone tool is moved across the skin to unblock areas of stagnation. This technique is also used to reduce and tonify acupuncture points.

  • TDP lamp: A therapeutic heating device which is placed over specific areas of the body to increase circulation to help alleviate pain and stiffness.

  • Magnets: Magnets are placed on certain points of the body, often used for nausea and pain conditions.

Cosmetic Acupuncture: Used to diminish wrinkles, firm facial muscles, tighten the skin, reduce blemishes, and revitalize the face. In addition to acupuncture, supplemental therapies may also be used including: acupressure, electrical stimulation, and herbal supplements.

Stop Smoking Acupuncture Treatments: Ear acupuncture is used to stimulate specific points that help with the stress, cravings and withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting smoking. Ear seeds or pellets secured with tape are placed on the same points so that the patient may continue to stimulate these points in between visits. Herbs are sometimes prescribed to provide additional help with cravings.

Herbology: Herbs are carefully selected to correct imbalances within the body to assist in treating many different health conditions. Formulas consist of two or more herbs and can be taken in many different forms including: pills, powders, decoctions, tinctures, and external liniments and plasters.
When prescribed by a knowledgeable herbologist, herbs are safe and have few, if any side effects.

Massage: We offer deep tissue, swedish, prenatal, hot stone, sports massage as well as oriental bodywork including shiatsu, thai, tui-na, acupressure and reflexology.

Reflexology: Pressure is applied to specific points on the feet and/or hands that correspond to particular organs and regions of the body. Reflexology can help to balance the body's energy system, boost immunity, improve circulation and reduce pain and stress.

Chiropractic: Chiropractic is a means of maintaining proper range of motion throughout the joints, spine, and body, while enabling optimum nerve transmission, alleviation of pain as well as promoting immune function and overall health and well being.

The effects of treatments last well beyond the ten sessions and can even last throughout the client's life.
