Cosmetic acupuncture is a gentle, natural way to rejuvenate your skin, improve circulation, and support overall facial wellness. To get the best results and minimize any temporary side effects, it’s important to follow a few simple post-treatment guidelines. Here’s what we recommend:

1. Hydrate Well

Drinking plenty of water helps your lymphatic system flush out toxins and supports circulation. For the first 24 hours after your treatment, try to avoid alcohol, as it can increase inflammation or bruising.

2. Avoid Excessive Heat for 24 Hours

Give your skin time to recover and prevent redness or swelling:

  • Skip saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, and very hot showers.

  • Avoid intense workouts or anything that makes you overheated.

3. Limit Sun Exposure

Protect your skin by wearing sunscreen or avoiding prolonged time in direct sunlight. Your skin may be more sensitive after treatment.

4. No Facial Massage or Scrubs

For 24–48 hours, avoid facial massage, gua sha, cupping, microcurrent, and exfoliating products. Let the micro-trauma from the needles do its work without interference.

5. Avoid Makeup Immediately After

Ideally, skip makeup or use minimal makeup for 12–24 hours. This helps reduce the risk of irritation and allows your skin to breathe.

6. Don’t Pick, Rub, or Touch the Face

It’s normal to feel a bit of sensitivity after treatment. Avoid rubbing, scratching, or touching your face—any minor redness or pinpoint marks will usually resolve within a few hours.

7. Skip Retinol & Active Skincare for 24–48 Hours

Give your skin a break from strong actives, including retinol, vitamin C, AHAs/BHAs, and benzoyl peroxide. Stick to calming skincare: gentle cleansers, hyaluronic acid, aloe, or a light moisturizer.

8. No Botox or Fillers the Same Day

If you plan to get Botox or dermal fillers, schedule these 48–72 hours after your cosmetic acupuncture (unless coordinated with your injector).

9. Expect Some Mild Reactions

Some temporary effects are normal and show that your treatment is working:

  • Slight tightness of the skin

  • Light redness

  • Tiny pinpoint marks

These usually fade quickly within hours.

10. Support Your Results

Maximize your benefits with simple self-care:

  • Stay well-hydrated

  • Prioritize good sleep

  • Avoid inflammatory foods on the day of treatment (alcohol, fried foods, excess sugar)

Following these guidelines will help you enjoy the full benefits of your cosmetic acupuncture treatment safely and effectively. Your skin will thank you!
