Take Care of Your Muscles & They Will Take Care of You!Blonde patient lying on floor doing exercise in bright room

2015 is here and getting in shape is a top priority for many people.

As you exercise and use your muscles, it’s important to also give them some TCL. Remembering to stretch, to hydrate, and to use a foam roller are three important factors in ensuring muscle health and aiding muscle recovery. Acupuncture and massage can also be extremely effective in relieving muscular tension and assisting fascia hydration. Both acupuncture and massage can help to speed up muscle recovery time and reduce muscle fatigue as well as encouraging the flow of blood and oxygen-rich nutrients to all parts of the body including; organs, glands, and muscles.

Intense training, unusual exertion, and tight muscles can cause muscle spasms, knots, cramps, and potential injury when the muscles fail to relax and hydrate. The body must have a way of self healing; acupuncture and massage can further promote this function by manipulating both the connective tissue and motor neurons in the muscle tissue that affects contraction and release by resetting muscular balance.

So as you set your exercise goals for 2015, don’t forget to include techniques to help your muscles stay in balance to prevent potential injury and set-backs.
