Meet our talented practitioner, Celine Foster!
1. What do you do at Element and how long have you been there?
I have been an acupuncturist at Element for almost a year.
2. Tell us a little bit about your backgroundโฆ and how you came to do what you do at Element.
Before deciding to become an acupuncturist, I worked in various creative fields, such as public relations and a record label. I have always been interested in alternative forms of medicine and it was a natural progression for me to end up practicing acupuncture.
3. What makes your practice satisfying/fulfilling for you? What is the most misunderstood aspect of what you do?
The most satisfying/fulfilling part of practicing acupuncture is when clients come in at their wits end with something that has been ailing them and they leave feeling lighter and better. It is delightful to be of service to others in a way that offers emotional and physical relief.
I would say the most misunderstood aspect of acupuncture is that the needles hurt. They do NOT! Also, a couple of sessions are needed to have a longer lasting result, in most cases, there are not many quick fixes when it comes to addressing deep change, so patience is important when coming in for acupuncture treatments.
4. If you could tell a prospective/new client one or two things that are crucial to know about your practice, what would they be?
I would encourage everyone to try acupuncture, even if they do not think something is technically wrong. I would tell clients to keep an open mind about each treatment and trust that their bodies do have the capacity to heal on their own. After all, we are incredible machines. I really work on empowering my clients to re-claim their best possible position of health.
