Summer heat can be a bit overwhelming. Here are a few herbal tea recipes to add a little coolness to the days ahead.

Chrysanthemum
A natural coolant
Ingredients: Dried chrysanthemum flowers, honey (optional)
Add chrysanthemum to boiling water. Let the mix steep for 5 minutes, add honey, and enjoy!

Chamomile
Great topically for inflammation and is used to calm the mind and body and also help with sleep
Ingredients: Whole fresh chamomile, honey (optional), fresh lemon juice
Add chamomile to boiling water, simmer for 5 minutes, strain, stir in honey and lemon juice. Pour over ice and garnish with a lemon slice.

Rooibos
A caffeine free red tea with antioxidant properties
Ingredients: Dried rooibos, freshly squeezed orange juice, club soda. mint leaves, lemon slices, honey (optional)
Bring water to a boil. Add in rooibos tea. Let steep for 5 minutes. Add honey. Add freshly squeezed orange juice and club soda, garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices for a delightful summer beverage.

Mint
The cooling menthol in mint makes it a perfect cooling summer drink. Mint is also known for its digestive properties and can aid with indigestion, nausea, and gas. Add a little peppermint to cool the body down even more.
Ingredients: Fresh mint, peppermint (optional), green tea (optional for an extra energy lift) honey (optional), 2 lemon slices
Add fresh mint, peppermint, and green tea to boiling water, simmer for 5 minutes, strain and stir in honey. Pour over ice and garnish with a couple lemon slices.

For more variety, use these same recipes and swap out different teas: hibiscus, lemon balm, and fruit tea.
