For many, ending the year isnโ€™t easy. Thereโ€™s so much to do!

Holiday shopping, family time, socializing–it can be hard to fit everything in. Come December I have a very long to-do list. Amongst all the hustle and bustle, I try to ring in the new year with a new beginning, including an attempt to improve in areas (such as writing thank you cards!) where I have slacked in the past. I clean my home from top to bottom, every drawer and corner gets my attention. Trips to Salvation Army and toy and clothing drop-offs to friends are also on my to-do list before the month ends. Besides eating, drinking and being merry, December’s goals also include clearing clutter that’s accumulated over the year. Not just the physical clutter, but the emotional and mental clutter as well.

It’s no easy task, but I make a big effort each passing year. I’ve found that clearing the way makes life less stressful and a little easier mentally. With the earlier evenings comes more time (well as much as possible with two mall kids!) to prioritize, clean, set goals, be creative, and think about change. As 2018 approaches, find some time to think about all you have accomplished in 2017, and tie up those loose ends so you can move through the end of the year with a little more ease, peace, and happiness.
