What’s behind our logo?
Logos come with many meanings, some subtle and subliminal, some overt and obvious. Often these meanings are overlooked at first glance, but still resonate emotionally.
Element Natural Healing Art’s current logo is a leaf with an acupuncture needle running through it as the leaf’s stem and middle vein. It may appear initially as a simple green leaf until you take a closer look.
Upon starting Element NHA, I was primarily focused on acupuncture and herbs. Now, after nearly 20 years, Element has become so much more!
Natural healing remains at our very core, so we include all the healing arts to encourage health and wellness of the body, mind, and spirit. Together, natural healing arts fosters a balance that allows the body to adapt and heal. Adapt and heal from what, you may ask? Environmental stressors, emotional, physical, and mental trauma and internal imbalances that lead to illness and disease. Natural healing arts can include a myriad of nurturing therapies including acupuncture, herbs, and a whole host of bodywork techniques such as massage, lymphatic drainage, reiki, craniosacral, Rolfingยฎ/ Structural Integration, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais Methodยฎ and even the movement techniques of yoga, pilates, and gyrotonics, etc. Our bodies are essential, clearly, so we must fine tune them to keep them in good working order. A squeaky door often needs a little adjustment, otherwise the squeak will worsen until the hinge breaks. No one needs a broken hinge anywhere in our bodies!
Our logo announces those values to the world: a spring green leaf that represents elements of renewal, revival, and hope, threaded with a delicate fine acupuncture needle that represents one of the most ancient natural methods of healing and regeneration. Nothing random at all about our name or logo, instead entirely deliberate and precise: simple and powerful.
Of course, time brings change. Element is always looking to improve, so our logo might be modified, but our values will always stay the same.
