Happy child sitting in lotus position over bllue sky on the top. Happiness and freedom concept.

My almost four-year-old daughter recently told me “Mommy, I never want to break.” My sweet girl already knows that when the body doesn’t work well, it’s just not fun. Then she asked me what she needed to do to “not break.”

My recommendations to her were very simple:

Eat lots of vegetables
Don’t eat candy
Only eat cake at birthday parties (I realize that’s inevitable!)
Only eat cookies at special events (I have to give in a wee-bit)
Drink lots of water
Poop every day
Stay active and exercise
Get enough sleep

I also try to practice what I preach. This little girl sees the world through newer eyes. Instilling healthy practices at a young age, I hope, will help her live a life of health and feeling good and prevent her from ever “breaking.”
